Eric Michael Lichter w/ the Dirt Floor Horns (Curt Ramm & Bill Holloman)

I worked extremely hard on this faithful version of “Lido Shuffle”, with some help from two of my favorite horn players, Curt Ramm (Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, Chic) and Bill Holloman (Duran Duran, Chic)
Also doi...

Stone Riot have been here for nearly seven days, and we’ve got an amazing record to show for it. Onto the mixing stage now.

I can’t thank Curt Ramm (Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Chic) and Bill Holloman (Chic, Duran Duran) enough for adding their talents to this version of “Lido Shuffle” I’ve been working on. Affectionately known as the “Dirt Floor Horns”, they’ve been on quite a few records, and the result...

A fun little cover of Neil Young’s “Only Love Can Break Your Heart” with my friend David Saw and Christopher Stills.

Preparing to get back to work over the next couple of days, while enforcing physical distancing and all of the precautions that come with navigating this strange new existence.

Although far from business as usual, I'm looking forward to SAFELY and RESPONSIBLY resuming work at the end of the month. I've gone back and forth on this decision for the past few days, and It wasn't an easy one to make.
I want to make sure this is done in the safest and most responsible way, f...

I redid this song note for note, using the same instruments used on the original 1975 Gary Wright version.
This was such a fun challenge, due to the amount of little moving parts I needed to learn. Deconstructing some of these classics has been my therapy through all of this....
Vocally, it was ...

Testimonials

Eric produced and recorded two new songs for me remotely, due to the current pandemic, and the results are just incredible. I’d heard he was one of the most gifted multi instrumentalists out there, and now I can concur. I’m influenced heavily by artists like Dawes, Father John Misty and the Eagles. Eric somehow managed to create something that’s reminiscent of all of these, while at the same time letting my uniqueness through. I’ll definitely be making a record with him when I can safely do so. Thanks for everything E!

Dirt Floor is a one of a kind experience for songwriters, and musicians, which I would highly recommend. Eric's talents as both a producer and mult-instrumentalist shine, and his calm, cool, guiding personality makes each Dirt Floor session memorable. There is no question of where you go to make beautiful music in the Northeast. Dirt Floor is the place that will leave you with no regrets.

Every aspect of recording at Dirt Floor was profoundly wonderful - professional yet comfortably down to earth - and exceeded my expectations. Eric possesses an intrinsic knack for recognizing and proliferating a musical vision with great passion and precision. For him it is sheer instinct coupled with his easy yet extraordinary talent. I instinctively knew Eric "got it" just one conversation in. As with every track on the record, he nailed it. I am so very honored and proud of this achievement and more importantly honored and humbled to have accomplished it with my dear friend, Eric, and the folks at Dirt Floor. As if that weren't enough, I've also met so many wonderful and gifted people during this recording journey, and I am so very blessed and honored to be part of the Dirt Floor family. What a bonus!! If you are thinking about recording, look no further. You absolutely will not be disappointed. Eric is one of the most talented multi-instrumentalist musicians/singer/songwriters/p...
