Back to work on the new Jack Caldwell album, and we’re making great strides. I’ve been a huge fan of his songwriting for years, and know his previous records well. I also love the sound of his singing voice, which is so pure and true.
I’m proud to have the long overdue opportunity to make this...
I’m having a blast making this record with songwriter Jason Doty, and this song, “Ghost Town”, is close to finished, with only lead vocals and harmonies left to do.
Doing that Heartbreakersesque thing has become second nature, and his songs beg for that kind treatment. I double tracked the Ricke...

Making a fantastic record with Casey Cochran.
Analog Synths with James Maple🔥
I’m excited to get back to work with this amazing group of gentlemen.
Out of nowhere Jesse starts ripping some Thin Lizzy Gotham/Robertson style harmony parts, winning my heart for all time.
Needless to say the Moon Matrix of the Lizard People album has taken a rocking turn🔥
- Ryan FEvery aspect of recording at Dirt Floor was profoundly wonderful - professional yet comfortably down to earth - and exceeded my expectations. Eric possesses an intrinsic knack for recognizing and proliferating a musical vision with great passion and precision. For him it is sheer instinct coupled with his easy yet extraordinary talent. I instinctively knew Eric "got it" just one conversation in. As with every track on the record, he nailed it. I am so very honored and proud of this achievement and more importantly honored and humbled to have accomplished it with my dear friend, Eric, and the folks at Dirt Floor. As if that weren't enough, I've also met so many wonderful and gifted people during this recording journey, and I am so very blessed and honored to be part of the Dirt Floor family. What a bonus!! If you are thinking about recording, look no further. You absolutely will not be disappointed. Eric is one of the most talented multi-instrumentalist musicians/singer/songwriters/p...
- Hannah FI’ve had the great pleasure of knowing Eric for nearly 10 years now, and I’ve made two very well received records with him. I don’t think there’s anybody on the planet that could understand my music the way he does, and I think we are lucky to have him, and a studio like Dirt Floor here in New England. I write songs on acoustic guitar, and when I bring them to Eric, he can add drums, guitars, various keyboard instruments, and even string arrangements, bringing each of my songs to life in a way I have never thought possible. He is an artist first and foremost, and if you’re lucky enough to work with him, he will give you 110% of himself, Making sure that what you’ve created surpasses all expectation. Trust me, it has, again and again, for me, and for many of our mutual musical friends. Don’t trust a cheap imitation, when only the real thing will do.
- Troy CAs a long-time listener of NPR radio, I’ve become well acquainted with Eric and Dirt Floor through the feature interviews with him, in regards to his unique style of record making. When it came time for me to do my very first project in 2009 he was already very high on my list. To be fair, I wanted to do more thorough research, just to make sure there wasn’t someone else out there better suited for my style. What I realized was that there are quite a few recording studios in the state of Connecticut alone, and not all of them are created equal. I had spoken to quite a few studio owners and producers, who all ultimately felt like yes-man, and once I spoke with Eric, I knew he was going to be the person I would work with. He was articulate, and seemed to genuinely understand the music I was looking to make, and of course it didn’t hurt that he can play pretty much every instrument with such taste. I’ve made two projects with him, the first being essentially all analog, And the second,...
